What To Wear For Autumn ’10

Although we hate to think about packing away our summer dresses just yet, we can’t help but be excited by what is on offer for the coming season!

AW 10/11 is proving to be something of a classic season all round, with a heavy focus on traditional colours, such as camel, browns, navy blue and greys taking centre stage. There’s a definite nod to the late 1950s/early 1960s period, taking inspiration from the TV series Mad Men and the iconic Grace Kelly. We’re excited to see the return of some beautifully, traditional shapes and styles such as the full skirt, the trench coat and the feminine blouse.

Our favourites from the AW 10/11 runway were Louis Vuitton and D&G, as seen below:

The Autumn/Winter season also offers a contrast to this prim, lady-like styling with a very minimalist, simple style focusing on similar colours. If you prefer a more modern and un-cluttered look, then this is the trend for you. Your key styles and shapes for the minimal look are the cigarette pant, A-line skirts and simple shift dresses. There isĀ  a larger focus here on contrasting dark and light combinations, pairing a dark skirt with a light top and accenting the look with a flash of bright orange, as seen below at Celine and Stella McCartney.
